Cleartext Traffic

Cleartext traffic is network traffic sent without encryption. Anyone positioned on the network path, such as a shared Wi-Fi access point, can read or change it. For an app that carries personal or financial data, that is a direct exposure.

Both platforms now discourage it: Android blocks cleartext by default in recent versions, and iOS does the same through App Transport Security. Testing confirms whether an app has added exceptions that let data leave in clear.

Mobexa tests the exact Android or iOS build you ship and maps every finding to the OWASP Mobile Top 10 and MASVS.
